Well another year has come and gone. Over the holidays I did not get a chance to update news for December.
Since the Anarchy Online Merger date is still up in the air, there has been a lot of questions on the effects of software that supports Anarchy. We are hoping to get information before the merger happens so we can have Vhabot up and running in time.
In the meantime, there has been numerous changes with Vhabot that will be announced in more detail later. New and improved plugins have been created. Most of them will be published with the .081 release of Vhabot.
There will be two versions of Vhabot available. The classic version that uses .Net 2.0, that will be fully mono compatible. Most of this effort will be handled by Llie. The second version will be dubbed the "Next Generation" of Vhabot. This version will be using .Net 4.0, which most likely wont be compatible with mono users.
The "Next Generation Engine" brings many new features to Vhabot, with faster responses. Most plugins are now be written for the NextGen engine and will be released when then engine is finished. The good news is that all classic Vhabot plugins will be compatible with the new engine. However, plugins for the new engine will not be compatible with the old engine without major changes. It is safe to say that the new changes make Vhabot on par with other AOBots that are available.
The release date will be announced soon as possible. Things have been running smoothly. Looking ahead, I want to make sure that all functions are fully tested before releasing the code. There are a number of additional changes to be hammered out.
